Financial Accountant

Job Description

– Pay: ₦400,000.00 – ₦500,000.00 per month
– Education: Higher National Diploma (Preferred)
– Experience: Financial Accounting 3 years (Required)
– License/Certification: ACA (Required)

We’re currently looking for a dynamic Accountant to join our team in Calabar. The role will be responsible for supporting the business in the discharge of day-today activities in the Finance and Operation Department. This will include, but not limited to, all the operational activities related to the financial management function of the Company and its related entities, including revenue assurance, processing payments, posting of transactions and statutory remittances, providing timely and accurate financial information, preparing management accounts and management related reports.

Key Responsibilities
– Ensure revenue assurance and timely collection
– Administering payrolls and controlling income and expenditure
– Analyzing accounts and business plans
– Posting of transactions on the ERP
– Providing tax planning services with reference to current legislation
– Negotiating the terms of business deals and moves with clients and associated organizations.
– Conduct and coordinate financial, operational and related research to support strategic and business planning within Company.
– Understand and communicate the financial and operational impact of any changes.
– Conduct insightful, ad hoc analyses to investigate ongoing or one-time operational issues.
– Perform daily, weekly and monthly reviews and analyses of current processes using operational metrics and reports.
– Effective filing of transaction documents and maintenance of records for effective audit trails.
– Ensure daily reconciliation of bank balances of all transactions daily.
– Collate relevant information for the generation of periodic statutory returns.
– Work with auditors and other parties where necessary.

Qualifications
– Bachelor’s degree or HND in finance, or Accounting.
– Must be ICAN-chartered.
– Previous experience in the logistics and haulage industry would be an added advantage.
– Strong understanding of financial reporting standards.
– Proficiency in SAGE accounting software and MS Office suite.
– Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
– Ability to self-lead in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
– Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and integrity.
– Should be available to travel between the Ogun State and Calabar office
– Must be willing to work from the Calabar office when needed.

Ability to commute/relocate
– Abeokuta: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

Willingness to travel
– 25% (Required)
